Privacy Policy — YooToo Finance

Overview

YooToo Finance is a personal finance app. Your financial data is your own. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and where it goes.

      ✦ Your transaction data, bank statements, and payslips never leave your device. They are stored in a private on-device database only you can access.

🤖 AI Processing — Important Disclosure

YooToo uses Anthropic's Claude AI to read the contents of any PDF bank statement, payslip, or receipt photo you choose to upload, and convert it into structured transactions you can categorise.

      ✦ Before any document is sent to Claude, the app shows you an explicit consent dialog explaining what data will be sent, who it will be sent to, and gives you the choice to continue or cancel. Uploads will not proceed without your express tap-to-confirm consent on every session.
    

What is sent: the document file you choose to upload (PDF or photo). Nothing else. The app does not transmit your other transactions, budgets, or settings.
Where it goes: first to YooToo's Vercel-hosted API (only as a relay), then to Anthropic's Claude API. Both connections use HTTPS.
How long it is kept: the YooToo backend processes the document in memory and discards it the moment Claude returns the parsed transactions. No copy is written to disk on our servers. Anthropic does not train on API inputs and discards content per its Commercial Terms.
How to revoke: you can withdraw AI processing consent at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI Processing. Without consent the upload features are simply disabled — the rest of the app continues to function.

What We Collect

During registration (optional), you may provide:

Your name
Email address
Mobile number

This information is used solely to send you a welcome email and to notify us that a new user has registered. It is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

During app use, the following is processed:

PDF bank statements and payslips — uploaded by you, parsed by our server, then discarded. Only the extracted transaction data (dates, amounts, merchants, categories) is returned to and stored on your device.
Receipt photos — sent to our server for text recognition, then immediately discarded. Only the parsed values are stored locally.
Biometric data (Face ID / Touch ID) — processed entirely by iOS on your device. We never see, store, or transmit this data.

Where Your Data Is Stored

      ✦ All financial data (transactions, budgets, payslips, goals) is stored in a SQLite database on your device only. It is never uploaded to our servers or any cloud service.
    

Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data. There is no cloud backup; it is your responsibility to export your data via the CSV export feature in Settings before uninstalling.

Third-Party Services

YooToo Finance uses the following third-party services in limited circumstances:

Anthropic (Claude API) — used to parse the text content of receipts and documents you upload. The content is processed and immediately discarded; Anthropic does not retain it for training purposes under standard API usage terms. Anthropic Privacy Policy →

No analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking tools are used in this app.

Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, YooToo Finance may send local reminders about upcoming recurring bills (e.g. rent, subscriptions). These notifications are scheduled on-device and do not require sending any data to our servers.

Data Retention & Deletion

We do not maintain a database of your personal information. Your name, email, and mobile number are used at registration time and are not stored in any retrievable database on our end beyond what SendGrid retains in its email logs.

To delete your locally stored financial data, go to Settings → Data → Delete All Data within the app, or simply uninstall it.

Security

The app supports PIN and biometric (Face ID / Touch ID) locking. PDF passwords for encrypted statements are stored using iOS Secure Enclave via expo-secure-store and are never transmitted.

Communication with our parsing server uses HTTPS. Uploaded documents are processed in memory and not written to disk on the server.

Children

YooToo Finance is intended for users 17 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.

📜 Terms of Use (EULA)

These Terms of Use (the "EULA") govern your use of the YooToo Finance app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

Licence

YooToo Finance grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The app is licensed, not sold, to you.

Subscriptions

YooToo Finance offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, "YooToo Pro", available as a monthly or annual plan:

Title: YooToo Pro (Monthly or Annual auto-renewable subscription).
Length: 1 month or 1 year, depending on the plan you choose.
Price: The price is shown in your local currency on the in-app paywall before you purchase. The annual plan includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.
Free trial: If you start the 14-day free trial, you are not charged during the trial. When the trial ends, your Apple account is automatically charged the displayed annual price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
Managing your subscription: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the app only for lawful personal purposes and not to attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app or its services.

Disclaimer

YooToo Finance is a personal budgeting tool and does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. You are responsible for verifying any figures before relying on them.

Apple Standard EULA

Except where superseded above, your use of the app is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
